Middle of October! We are right in the thick of it:) Crisp days, cool nights, sharp mornings... Pumpkins everywhere, bountiful apples, crackling leaves, dark starry nights, pots of soup, warm pies, fresh air and perfect walks... love it!
"There is something in October that sets the gypsy blood astir,
We must rise and follow her;
When from every hill of flame,
She calls and calls each vagabond by name."- Bliss Carmen
Bliss Carmen! Now there's a poet you don't see quoted much anymore. What a great first name he had. Or was it a nickname? I don't know. I wonder if there's a Wikipedia entry?
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely pics! ♥
ReplyDeleteIt has been a gorgeous month, it's true. Enjoy it now because the rain and wind are coming this weekend. Too bad, I really wanted to do the Citadel ghost tour.
ReplyDeleteStunning photos as always Shelagh, you are so super talented!
The photos don't even need words to convey the excitement we both must feel about the season that is upon us! Just lovely. I am a gypsy at heart and am never happier than when I am cooking in the kitchen with a fire in the fireplace and our dogs fast asleep having doggy dreams. Chili will be on and I will have peace within.
