Wednesday

This is what the weather looks like today in Halifax. A dreich november day. That's a word I heard often in my family along with many other quaint expressions. Truly auld Scottish is a language all of it's own. This is looking south down Hollis Street.
I've had one of those days. Lots to get done and a nice crisp list to help but at each step, things are going awry. Example: printer, task... print off a lot of cards. Well, stripes appear, nozzle cleaning, run out of ink, more nozzle cleaning, forgetting to change the paper to cheapie stuff for cleaning, head alignment, finally back to printing.... Well it seems as though things that should be ticked off the list quickly are popping up with new unexpected tasks to be done. There's always something. I guess the plan is to be prepared for the unexpected:)

When I lived in Australia people would always introduce me to fellow Canadians. Sometimes they would DRAG me over to meet a fellow countrychick.

One day I am dragged over to a radio: "A Canadian, Shauna! There you go, stuff from home!"

I listened... I listened harder... I had no idea what this Canadian was saying.

Turns out he was from somewhere along the eastcoast of Canada and I was NOT catching his dialect at ALL.

I don't think my Aussie friends believed me ;)

Good luck with your list!

My plan is usually "walk away when it gets too frustrating. It's not worth the effort & lost time"

Ah, "dreich". One of the approximately 593 words we Scots have for weather that is, basically, wet. Got to amuse ourselves somehow.......

Truly a bleak day...we had similar weather today. But as my Scots mother would say, "Och stop girning!"
