Common Roots Urban Farm

Deep in the heart of the city of Halifax there is a farm! Right next to one of the busiest intersections in Halifax. Common Roots Urban Farm
Things are growing! There are private plots and public plots. Everywhere you see a green stake, you can nibble and pick things. Look at this abundance of tomato!
Bazillions of flowers are growing, and the gentle buzz of bees can be heard over the traffic.
It is a living breathing oasis right next to the QE2 Hospital on Robie Street and Bell Road.
From Tuesdays to Fridays 11:30-5:30 you can purchase lovely veggies and flowers and compost and gardeny things. These charming gals might be on hand to help you:)
Look at these!! I bought some purple beans. Alas they turned green when I cooked them but yum! so good.
Charities and interested groups have garden beds here too. Here is a story about the Paramedic's garden
Pop by and have a stroll...
Buy some flowers. Do yourself a world of good and help support a wonderful initiative!
