Rainy Tuesday

I'm fighting a cold:( Know exactly where I got it too.*Looks at daughter*
It is raining and dark today and will be for the rest of the week.
Good staying in and getting better weather, bad going out and getting things done weather.
I have a physio appointment in an hour. Best get going.

What's your suggestion for beating a cold bug? Love collecting remedies for getting better and feeling good. What do you do when you feel low?

Watched Canada AM this morning and this Dr. had some interesting suggestions.

I always like Vicks rubbed on my neck overnight (helps with a sore throat) and honey in tea is nice too. Or just a spoonful of honey for stopping the coughing/hacking.
Hope you're feeling better soon.

Honey in green tea. Lemon in water. Eucalyptus oil in hot water, letting steam rise and breathing it in.

OH, and Alka Seltzer Plus Cold. Works wonders.

Lemon & Ginger tea with lemon; woolen socks and jammies, lots of decorating and/or cooking shows; moaning & sighing; and sleep, sleep, sleep.

Wish I had a cure. I usually end up on a Zpack (or, now, 2 of them) and lots of Nyquil. But I'm also pre-disposed to sinus infections and bronchitis.

Hope you're feeling 100% soon!

My Canadian friend who now lives in Aus. told me a nip of Apricot Brandy each evening before bed will help get rid of a cold ( or at least make you feel better) Give it a go....hope you feel better soon.

I suggest you head to a health store and pick up some Spiralina. It is an alga and it works to boost your immune system to fight off colds and flu. My daughter is a teacher of young kids and since she has been taking it in the tablet form daily she has not picked up any colds. I take it daily and so do my animals. Hugs, Deb =^..^=x5

Zicam (can you get it in Canada?) and ginger tea with honey, and maybe a little whole grain toast with marmalade.

Sleep, homemade chicken soup (really, it works!), tea with honey and long hot showers.
Yoganan - some zycam products were recalled last year because users completely lost their sense of taste and smell. I took it while on the road in New Orleans before the recall and temporarily lost my senses - all that great food, and I couldn't taste a thing!

Sorry to hear that you (and your guilty daughter) have been ill. My remedy: the usual drinking lots of fluids (hot water will give you the added bonus of healthy hydrated skin and Neocitron is so yummy and will put you to sleep), chicken soup (medically-proven to improve one's health) and watching good, relaxing movies that don't require alot of thinking. Hope you feel better soon!

Chicken soup.
Tea and sympathy.
night time cold drugs in the daytime with the tv on low and my duvet & pillow on the couch.
Hand knit socks.

None of these actually do anything except make me feel like I'm doing all I can!
