Monty
The bold Monty. My big beautiful boy. We've always had dogs and after our lovely Sequoia ( a gorgeous Rhodesian Ridgeback) passed away, thought maybe we would welcome a cat into our home. I am so glad we did. Cats really are different. They lack the exuberance of dogs but add a quiet, warm, if somewhat aloof at times, presence. Of course, when he is racing about the house going from window to window tracking some bird or squirrel, making urgent noises and whipping his tail, a bit of decorum is lost but he soon calms down, sits, licks his paws and checks me out as if to say "What are you looking at?"
I am hosting a "Letter Revival Festival"(until June 14) If you like receiving interesting mail and don't mind sending a letter ...this is for you! Click on the banner to learn more:) I would be happy if you could spread the word, you can use this wee banner .

Such a handsome boy! Funny, I thought you were totally a cat person...never pictured you with a dog!
Aw, lovely. You wouldn't like to swap him for a slightly mangy 17 year old female with a penchant for throwing up on doormats, would you?
I think I have a distant cousin of Monty's here in my home. I do love my cats and even after losing our original two sisters to live in kitty heaven I swore, no more and well..... now have three.
I've e-mailed you to joint the artful penpals swap. What fun this will be.
...love monty. he is indeed handsome. our wee kitties are getting bigger. two of them are manx's. i am not sure what that is, but they don't have tails. they are adorable and love to play chase, tag and attack! from one kitty lover to another...and i am sorry about your ridgeback. we had one years ago. very loyal and big!
I love this idea! I'll be getting you my info soon. :)
Monty is a beautiful boy! I love both cats and dogs...but, I tend to pick a cat to live with me...even though in the past I have had both living in the same house...
I was not used to have animals in the house, my mom never liked to have them in the house. But when I got married, my husband wanted a cat and we had since then adopted 5 -all from shelters. (Two had passed away due to cancer and a heart attack -and we still missed them -but they gave us 8-10 years of wonderful memories). So, we still have Ezri, Betsy, and Misty! And each of them have different personalities, but I love them so much. They know when you need them.
Monty is so cute :)Congrats.
Don't you love that look? :)
LOL I love this story. My cat Dollie has been having fun with cherries lately. Cats are different than dogs, but I'm glad I own both :)
My daughter and SIL just got a kitten. My daughter does not like it because it is well....a kitten. It jumps and attacks and bites and does all kinds of crazy kitten things. The kitten loves her husband and her husband loves the kitten. When husband isn't home, kitten terrorizes my daughter! For real. It got so bad tonight that my daughter left the house and went for a walk.
I tried to explain to her that little kitten knows that she doesn't like her....she needs to try really hard to patch things up or that little kitten will make her life hell!
I love the colors and upbeat mood of your blog. I lived in Paris as a child and also can't wait for the movie with Meryl Streep about Julia Child. That's where I found your comment.
