Saturday Market

Every Saturday we have a marvelous Farmer's Market here in Halifax. It starts early in the morning and continues until just after lunch. I visited with my daughter and some of her friends.

It is held in the old Keith's Brewery, a bright and airy space with warrens of rooms and corridors underneath, stuffed with vendors selling everything imaginable.

The Halifax Farmers Market is slated to move next fall. The are relocating to a new venue on the waterfront next to Pier 21. I think the new name will be Halifax Seaport Farmers Market. Using wind turbines and solar panels to generate power. Here is a video with a bit of info, impressive. They start building it this month.

I sat in a chair in this hallway, eating my warm, fresh from the oven, cinnamon bun and sipping an Americano coffee. I was serenaded by this young local Busker and had fun watching all the people coming and going. Actually I took this picture from my comfy perch, sitting a few stairs up from him. I did tip him as I left.:)

You are so lucky to be able to go to such great looking Farmer's Markets. I just love getting in to the city on the weekend when the markets are open. I'd do all my grocery shopping there if I could!

I think you must live in the most perfect place on earth. Be careful, you may convince us all to move there, maybe even move in with you! It looks like a perfect day in your perfect place too.

That looks lovely. I am now doing vacation mental arithmetic trying to figure out if we are going to be near Halifax itself on a Saturday during our trip!

I just love Farmer's Markets! Ours starts this coming Saturday!

Everything looked so good!

The new market will be awesome! It is amazing what one can do if only they put their minds to it. It will not only be beautiful - but so "green"...

BTW - what is an Americano coffee???

I'm so jealous and can't wait to one day live closer to that market.

ps. the boys insisted on taking the egg home themselves to try and hatch it.

Our farmer's market starts this Saturday but it isn't nearly as quaint as the one you've shown in the pictures. Looks like a wonderful way to spend some time.
