First day of Spring!

Hurrah, it is here! Today is a perfect Spring day. We have been having the most wonderful streak of early springlike weather and for that I am grateful. I am planning a long walk to soak it in!

I've fallen into a rut with my " losing weight" program:( I'm still getting about 1 hr of exercise every day but my eating has drifted back into "noshing after supper" mode and I HAVE to get it under control! I have been floating up and down the same 2 pounds for a month now. Today is a good day to fire up the willpower and get going again! (My daughter's birthday lunch did not help....too much dessert...mmmm)

I'm also in a waffly artistic mode. A few days ago it was painting. Yesterday I wanted to be a portrait photographer and was researching and surfing, the day before I was thinking about writing and illustrating a children's book or maybe penning a young adult best seller. Today I want to film documentaries.......... at lunch yesterday we were throwing around the idea of opening a tearoom:) When am I going to grow up and become what I am supposed to be? I could do all of those things. I just need time:)

I think it is time to focus. Perhaps I have Spring fever?

Love it! Today I am headed to a Letterpress/Printing workshop, I bought a printing press, and now I am learning all I can about being a printer, what the heck!
We hear exactly what you are saying...Happy Spring.

Spring fever or creative ferment? Perhaps it's one and the same!

I can relate on both the weight loss and the scattered creativity. Too many Girl Scout cookies and idea's floating around my head... Yup, sounds like time to regroup and rededicate.

I love your idea of a tea room. There used to be one in Musquodoboit (spelling?) that Mum & I loved to go to but she closed :( Since moving to the USA I've found that Tea Rooms are very Nova Scotian - who knew?

I'm loving your potluck cookbook and posted this today :)

Well, whatever you're thinking now - your illustrations are lovely! I'd love to get a few yards of fabric printed in the design on today's post. I'm seeing kitcheny things, curtainy things, quilty things...

You have spring fever, besides why do we constantly strive to be productive?

That is always the dilemna of the creative spirit... so many ideas, so many avenues.. and the waffling.

As for diets, I've suffered the same issues you have, but last week my chiropractor gave me some good advice and so far it's helping me get it under control. Every time you are going to put something in your mouth.. think... is this nourishing my body or taking me one step closer to the grave. Sounds morbid but works!!! I have three pounds in a week with just this thinking alone. Now to kick up the exercise again.

Please see my post about a victorian tea in my hometown! We have 2 tea rooms and they are quite a bit of fun and have been doing very well, even with this economy. It is a nice way for those to go back to simple things and enjoy your day. The victorian also had a living history actress showing off clothing from the period.
