Sugar and spice

Today is my mom's cookie exchange. She has been hosting it for as long as I can remember. Now the ladies that attend are all in their seventies and eighties but they look forward to it as much as I do. Some of the trays of goodies they bring are amazing. Baking is a lost art. I've got to scoot over there to give her a hand:)

I'll be back later with some pictures of it:)

How wonderful. Haven't done one of those since old military wive's club days. Not OLD wives. I meant old times.
Can't wait to see your usual brilliant photos.
I wish you could pass cookies through computer screens!

Morning Shelagh-
Finally decided on a print...Full Moon Cats-I love all of them, but have finally made a decision. I like all the colors in this one!

Hope you have a lovely cookie swap day. I am putting your print in the mail today-US postal service-not sure how long it will take.

Blessings,
Leslie

Yum! It sounds like lots of fun. I baked cookies this year for the first time in about 20 years. I'm not sure why I stopped, but I enjoyed it this year. Gathering together and trading sounds like a wonderful idea.

Shelagh,
I had no fresh ginger! Everything else, but no ginger. Wouldn't be the same without it. Trip to the market is in order.

I never participated in a cookie exchange but always thought they were a wonderful idea. My dad was a wonderful baker. He made cookies from recipes of his mom's. She was from Norway. I haven't made those in quite a while...might have to do that this year!
