Paint Day in a hidden city cottage....

Register and see painting and info for Sunday Nov 12 here and Register and see painting and info for Saturday Nov 18, Classes are 10am-4pm

Join me for a relaxing day of painting, chatting  and listening to music with kindred spirits. We will be spending the day in a charming cottage over one hundred years old tucked in a lovely garden. Only 5 minutes from the Armdale roundabout (near the Dingle) We will break at noon for soup and a delicious vegetarian meal. Tea and coffee provided also. Byob if you would like wine with your meal.

If you wish, you can take a stroll along the water or through the pretty neighborhood.

We will be painting with acrylic paints on 11 x 14' birchwood "canvas." Ready to hang. You can use as much artistic license as you please to make it yours. I will guide you through it step by step:) NO experience needed but if you do have experience and want to join us for a fun day, all the better!

Please bring an apron or wear something an errant drop of paint might enhance. Casual comfortable,crafty clothing encouraged. To see what we will be painting and to register.. click on Sunday November 12  or Saturday November 18  Space limited to 10 people per class.

Where:  

 Fruition Cafe, Coburg Professional Centre 

6389 Coburg Rd, Halifax. (Corner of Oxford and Coburg Road.)

 A bright sunny space with lots of room. It will be closed for the day.

Wheelchair accessible, with gender-neutral and accessible washrooms on-site.

What:

A day of painting , chatting, good music and lunch!  We will be recreating this painting! 
BUT you can make it your own:) add three houses and a bird etc.... 

We will use ACRYLIC paints on an 11 x 14" wooden canvas with painted sides. Ready to hang. You can use as much artistic license as you please to make it yours. I will guide you through it step by step:) No experience needed but if you do have experience and want to join us for a fun day, all the better!

We will stop around 12 for a lunch break. Soup and a grilled wrap, quiche or sandwich. You choose when you get there. Tea and coffee available but only dairy free milk options.

Painting Workshop Sept 18!

My next painting workshop is on September 18. We will be painting this vase of flowers:) You can choose the colour you want....it does not have to be green. The cost is $99 plus tax  It is held in Halifax at Fruition Cafe, 6863 Coburg Road.

Re-cap Paint Day April 24

 Paint, glorious paint!  Once again I had a lot of fun at my painting workshop on April 24th. It was held at one of my favourite places, Fruition Cafe on Coburg Road.
What a great bunch of diligent bunch of artists (when they weren`t laughing!) I painted along with them as well as instructing. We were recreating a lighthouse and beautiful coloured sky.

 Sunset or dawn...hmmmm.
We laid out the paintings to dry and make room on the tables for a yummy lunch. Gorgeous!
Then we were back at it! Listening to Motown music and painting up a storm.
I painted the sides of the canvases before the workshop and the green tape keeps them free from paint. We just peel it off after.

Tah dah! The paintings are wonderful!! All the same and yet different. Thanks so much everyone. I had a lovely time:)

Post Paint Day April 24 with Shelagh Duffettt

Sunday April 3rd was the first of my painting workshops!

I hosted it at Fruition Cafe on the corner of Coburg and Oxford Street. A lovely bright and cheerful cafe owned by my friends Seth and Jess.

There were 16 of us and it was a perfect number. Just enough to feel like a party and small enough to feel intimate.

Everyone painted the same image which I demonstrated step by step, yet were encouraged to add their own twist.

I have to say I had as much fun as they did! What a lovely group of enthusiastic and friendly women!

We listened to fantastic music and basically zoned out or rather "in" for a few hours. Stopped for lunch and laid the canvases outside so we had room to eat our healthy lunch. See how the paintings are all the same but different:) Still in progress.

We continued for a couple of hours after lunch...

Everyone lost in their creative process....

Loved it!!
