Year of the Ox

Happy Chinese New Year 4704! Fifteen days of celebration ahead:) Their new year starts on the lunar new moon and continues until the full moon! If you have any tangerines, put them out in a bowl and pass them out for good luck. Oranges and tangerines are symbols for abundant happiness:)) This is an abacus I got as a teenager. I used to know to use it, but have forgotten.. must brush up again.
Ok, I seem to be constantly giving weather reports but it is COLD again today. -20 earlier this morning with no windchill. Ouch. I have spent more time inside this winter than I think ever before. Last year I slipped on the ice and got a concussion and have become very wary of walking when conditions are icy:( that plus I have grown lazy I think :)
I'm painting flowers today. Good subject for a winter's day.
Have a great week:)

It's SUPER cold here, too! (I'm only a little North East of you) Uggggh I hate the cold.

Happy Chinese New Year!

My husband and I walk down a 1/2 mile driveway every day with our dogs to get the paper. Lately it has been a real challenge because it's shear ice. John told me I walk like an old person! I have been spending all my time looking at my feet to make sure I don't slip and not being able to look around. One of the not-so-good things about winter!

Happy New Year! I'm in Illinois and I am so ready for spring. It has been a brutal winter and I am just plain old tired of it.

I am ready for green grass and flowers. Bring it on Mother Nature....too bad we probably have a couple months of this left. Just wishful thinking on my part.

Oh!
Thanks for the reminder. I completely forgot this year and I usually give red envelopes with money to my kids. Darn! Oh well, they have spent enough of my mula lately! Can't wait to see the flowers. I bet they're scrumptious!

The cold is ridiculous. The year of the Ox is supposed to be one of good fortunate, let's hope so! We need some good news and good fortune.
